Functional Testing

These tests can provide more detailed insights into what’s really happening in your body and can be particularly useful to get to the bottom of long-term complex conditions.
By looking at key markers like hormone levels, gut health, nutrient status, and more, we can uncover imbalances that may be contributing to your fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, or low energy.
Functional tests are an additional cost and I will only recommend them if I feel they are necessary or it is something you have a preference for.
I’ve outlined below some of the more common tests that I use:

Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH)

A DUTCH test can be very useful to get a greater insight into hormonal imbalances (e.g. PMS, irregular/painful periods, low libido), especially where stress may be a contributing factor.

The DUTCH Complete test evaluates 35 different hormones, including oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA and cortisol.  It also offers insights. Into metabolic health.

GI360 Complete Stool Test

A stool test can give a comprehensive snapshot of your digestive function and your microbiome. It is useful not just for digestive complaints, but also for chronic illnesses in which poor gut function might be significant.

The GI360 test detects pathogens, viruses, parasites and bacteria linked to chronic gastrointestinal symptoms.  It also evaluates digestion, inflammation, intestinal permeability (leaky gut), immune function and intestinal health markers.

Thyroid Complete

This is an expanded thyroid test to the one commonly run by GPs.  The test measures TSH, T4, T3, free T4 and free T3 as well as thyroid antibodies and reverse T3.

It can identify thyroid disorders, such as Hashimoto’s or Graves disease as well as subclinical hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
